Intercom House Phone by Carraro Giocattoli

Yesterday while on the hunt we came across this neat little surprise!

Toy phones!!! Keep one in your bedroom, the other in your roommate's and you can call each other! All you need are some batteries. The red light on top lights up and rings when you get a call. By the kids' faces, this should be alot of fun!!!

They are made in Italy.  That is as much as we know.  I tried to do some research online and could not find any information on the maker or the toy.  If you have any ideas, lets us know!

Antique Tools for your garage

Here are some pretty interesting tools that were given to us.  We are not 100% sure what they were used for (if you have any ideas please let us know!).

* There is a soldering iron
- 12" long
- Wood handle
- no markings (no company name, serial #...)

* Snips to remove the nails from a horseshoe??? ....or pull teeth???
- 7 3/4" long
- reads DASCO 328
- one end has a flat head and the other has a fork

* The last plyers I am not too sure either on their use but they remind me of a whale swimming in the ocean.
- 10 1/2" long
- curved handles and one of the ends has a fork for pulling out nails possibly.
- this tool also does not have any markings

Saturday Night Cosmic Bowling!!!

Today I wanted to highlight some great items that are not getting the attention they deserve in the store.  Unfortunately, not everything can be held up high on display, so instead, I'm sharing these with you here...

LET'S GO BOWLING!!!!!!!

  • Awesome vintage patches that have never been used.
  •
    • The "ABC" patch measures 3" by 3 5/8"
    • The two "200 series" patches measure 2" x 2"
    • The three "25 over" patches measure 2 1/4" by 1" (at widest part)
    • The card is metal and is the same size as a credit card. The back face is blank.

Like what you see?

Ok, so maybe you are not really into the patches...well there is more!

  • Maybe this funky Brunswick bowling bag will suit your fancy!  Let me tell you, this bag comes with "The Beast", the most infamous crazy purple bowling ball that will make you the winner of all bowling competitions for sure... that is if you can handle all of its powers!

Look at those fangs!  They are thirsty for blood!!!
Bowling bag and ball set $18.00

If "The Beast" is too hardcore for you and you are more into casual bowling then perhaps the following bag will be more to your liking...

  • This two-tone brown Brunswick bag also comes with a bowling ball with stand inside.
  •
    • The bag and ball set is $18.00
    • Shoes are $14.00

Please check back soon for more cool finds!!!

Smith-Corona Galaxie Twelve Typewriter in the most amazing blue

Last Monday, Justin and I came across this typewriter: a Smith-Corona Galaxie Twelve in the most amazing shade of blue.  It comes with it's original carrying case and is in super vintage condition.  It's a "Must See" for sure!!!

I wish I could keep it for myself... Whoever goes home with this will be the "Winner of the Day"!

Here is another adorable typewriter we found.  It is a Royal Quiet Deluxe in a dusty rose.  This one comes with the carrying case as well plus the original manual.

Come see them for yourself, they won't be here for too long!

Spend a day at the beach with this Monita Transistorized Headphone Radio AM/FM

Put on your rollerskates and go enjoy yourself on the beach boardwalk with this super awesome transistor radio headset!

*AM/FM Solid State Radio with 2.25" Speakers
*Adjustable Headband
*Tuning and Volume Controls
*Made in Hong Kong by Monita

They are in great vintage condition and come with the original box and instructions.  Headset only requires one 9v battery (the rectangular shaped one)... which is good! Battery operated things seem to always need a trillion AA batteries.

If you are interested, we priced these at $46 and are available at the shop.

Cute Find!!! Adorable Cowboy Boots

Yesterday while we were out looking for new cool finds for the shop I came across these!!!  Aren't they the sweetest cowboy boots?  They are a light beige color with a jewel on the strap for accent.

size 7.5

Wear these cute boots with a dress, a skirt, or tight daisy dukes.  Show off these hot legs!!!

It's been a long time!!!

So, the last time I blogged was a trillion years ago! Ok, just kidding, it was back in February.  After looking back at my last 2 posts, I have to say that alot has changed and happened since then...

We found a taxidermy head-mount wall piece.  It is quite a nice piece and not really for sale... It's our new store mascot.  His name is Rambo and he is a beautiful, vintage, and exotic Ram's head.  We've had him for a few months now. We found him shortly after my last entry.

We have also included art pieces from our favorite Long Beach artist Paul Hogue.  He creates all sorts of unique pieces made from natural components.  Many other venues have Mr. Hogue's art on display.  Below is one of them; a beautiful wood-burning of an owl.  This particular art piece was done on a dead Palm Tree branch.

Cute Right?

Our store is just getting fuller and fuller with all the awesome collectibles we are finding.

We want a taxidermy animal head!!!

For over a week Justin and I have been lusting over taxidermy.  It is what our store is missing...a beautiful mounted animal head.  Day after day I have been searching and searching... until last night.  Last night I found the perfect head, a rare Pronghorn Antelope.  Imagine that!!!  It was beautiful and ready for us to pick up anytime.  Awesome!

They had set meet time for one p.m, Friday.  Well! Twelve noon came quick and Justin was ready to hit the road and pick up the head.  By now, I am sure you are expecting a happy ending to this story.  Why else would I be blogging right now. No, unfortunately, I am blogging out my frustration for today's disappointments.  The Pronghorn Antelope would have become our new mascot, a great addition to the family.

So for the let down: Twenty minutes before one p.m and thirty miles later, Justin received a text (while driving) that the Antelope was no longer available, that he had changed his mind and did not want to sell the head.   As soon as I heard of the news the world stopped, or my heart, or both.  Anyway, the point is, we still don't have a mounted head to beautify our lovely store.

Our search must go on...

1960's Metal Owl Ice Bucket

Yesterday we had our unofficial mascot sold.  The 1960's Owl ice bucket was loved by all that walked by... it was our conversation piece for a week.  We knew this owl had to be ours when we first saw it.  We knew this owl would be the talk of the town.  Unfortunately, it wasn't available to us until the next day.   All night we thought about this owl and how amazing it would look in our window.  Well, the next day came and we got the little bastard.  Sadly, we only got to appreciate him for a few days but we are extremely happy he went to a good home in Cleveland, Ohio.

(The image is from an Etsy listing by TheLovelys.  We did not have time to take a picture of our own.  Thank You :)
